Assessment & Reporting

To support continuous improvement in student learning, we are committed to the following practices:

  • Data-Informed Planning: We systematically use data and evidence to tailor learning experiences to meet the diverse needs of all students.
  • Diverse Assessment Methods: A range of assessment types—including diagnostic, formative, and summative—are used to monitor and support student progress.
  • Transparent Assessment Criteria: We design open-ended tasks with clearly communicated criteria, ensuring all stakeholders understand how learning is assessed.
  • Standards-Based Reporting: Student progress is reported using a variety of tasks, aligned with clearly defined standards.
  • Feedback for Teaching: Assessment outcomes are used not only to evaluate student learning but also to reflect on and improve teaching practices.

Celebrating Achievement

Student success is recognised throughout the year in many ways, including:

  • Informal conversations
  • Awards at school assemblies
  • Parent-student-teacher interviews
  • Classwork sent home
  • Oral presentations
  • Written reports

Reporting to Parents

Written reports provide a comprehensive overview of student achievement, based on a range of assessment evidence and professional judgement. These reports reflect progress against clearly articulated standards.

To complement written reports, parent-teacher interviews are held twice a year—typically in Terms 1 and 3. These sessions offer an opportunity to discuss student progress, achievements, and behaviour in a collaborative setting. Formal report cards are issued at the end of Terms 2 and 4.
